  • Paris Elopement: Lisa and Frank’s Stone Church Ceremony

Lisa and Frank originally contacted us in August with hopes of eloping to Paris in early September. So with only a few weeks to plan, we helped them create something truly special just for the two of them.

The day began in the cozy Eiffel Tower suite of the Radisson Blu Le Dokhan Hotel situated ideally between the Trocadero and the Eiffel Tower. Frank had surprised his beautiful bride with the special room, as well a lovely bouquet of flowers. How sweet! With a gorgeous natural light shining into the rooms and clear blue skies, the day was starting well.  Both Frank and Lisa decided that they did not want to see each other before the ceremony. Lisa stayed in her intimate room to quietly think and write down her vows before being pampered by the hair and makeup team, while Frank positioned himself in the salon near the large window overlooking the city’s iconic monument to write his vows.  Soon after Fred, our fabulous makeup artist arrived to begin Lisa’s bridal session. She opted for a plum-colored eye and light pink lip. As for her hair, Muriel, our wonderful hairstylist arrived and helped create a romantic, loosely curled and braided updo with some floral accessories to finish the look. After stepping into her dreamy cream and gold strapless gown, our talented photographer, Olivier Lalin came in for some getting ready portraits. Alternating his time between the bride and groom, Olivier snaps shots of Lisa in her room preparing her final affairs and Frank getting into his suit and spending some quality time with his Swedish cousin that stopped by between flights for the big day. Isn’t that nice! After some fun photos, Frank and his cousin left for the church. Olivier was able to get some beautiful portrait shots of Lisa’s before the vintage cream and navy Bentley S1 arrived to pick her up and take her to the church. At there, Pastor McKall met with the lovely couple before beginning the ceremony. At the sound of Wagner Lohengrin’s “Bridal Chorus,” Frank and Lisa walked down the isle to begin their ceremony. After saying their traditional vows, the lovely couple read their personal remarks to one another. Pastor McKall pronounced them husband and wife at the American church of Paris.

  • Paris Event: “Diner en Blanc” at the Palais Royal

Paris Event: “Diner en Blanc” at the Palais Royal

Paris is filled with fabulous events and things to do, especially during the summer time.
Yesterday, there was an amazing event called “Dîner en Blanc de Paris” or “Dinner in White in Paris.” It all started 25 years ago by François Pasquier and a handful of friends. Today, the event boasts a crowd of nearly 15,000! What exactly is this exclusive pop-up event? Well, thousands of people come dressed in white accompanied with their most elegant etiquette for a massive “chic picnic” in one of the city’s beautiful public spaces. The event is supposed to evoke the refinement and glamour of court society. The location is only given out at the very last minute, so its very secret for such a public affair. Every year a different spot is chosen, but has included: the Pont des Arts, the Eiffel Tower site, Place Vendôme, the Château de Versailles, the Esplanade de Notre-Dame, the Esplanade des Invalides, the periphery of the Place de l’Étoile, the Champs-Élysées, Place de la Concorde and this year: the lovely Palais Royal!
It doesn’t stop there either! “Dîner en Blanc” is actually an international event that takes place in close to 40 different locations throughout the world!
Did you miss out this year? Make sure you get an invitation for next year’s magical event!

  • Bethany & Brendon’s Beautiful Chapel Expiatoire Ceremony

Bethany and Brandon are on their way to Malaga for their honeymoon this morning! Yes I am jealous, a little bit of Spain would do very nicely at the moment. They married at the chapel Expiatoire in Paris a couple of days back. Our WeddingLight photographer sent us some of the photos of their elopement just now and I couldn’t help rushing to the blog for a little update on our latest Parisian elopement!
We had been planning their big day in Paris for a little while now. Bethany and Brendon met up three years ago in Louisiana where they grew up while they were vacationing and YES fall in love! They wanted something intimate to seal their union and decided to elope to Paris. They will be having a big bash when they return to Colorado where they now live but their wedding day was going to be just for the two of them. Bethany fall in love with the chapel Expiatoire; beautiful neo classic building in the 8th arr. of Paris. They had private dining at the “La Perouse” restaurant in the latin quarter and celebrated the evening with some pink Veuve Clicquot champagne, one of my favorite! Gorgeous photography from Olivier, beautiful day, not a drop of rain in sight. I wish them both a sweet and happy life together. Cheers to our wedding couple of the week!
