  • Paris Elopement: Irena & Nikola from Serbia

We planned an elopement for Irena and Nikola in Paris a few days ago. Olivier from WeddingLight posted some of the photos on the blog already so here is a little snippet of the wedding day.

They flew in from Serbia to get married at the Serbian embassy in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Olivier followed them around afterwards to document their special day with Eric, their driver and his classic automobile.

We have just received a few words from our couple and couldn’t wait to share some of the images with all of you:

From our couple: “Thank you both for putting so much effort and helping us in having a great wedding day in Paris.
We appreciate all your support and planning for our wedding in Paris. We were not an easy couple, we know, and appreciate all your flexibility and patience in arranging everything according to our wishes. And Olivier, we looked at all the photos and they are really great! Although we were in a rush and delayed from the beginning, you’ve managed to put together quite some nice photos. The places we visited are really nice and we liked them a lot. Once again, thank you both for all your efforts and we might see each other on some other occasions in the future!

You can see more photos on the WeddingLight Photography blog.

  • Featured On: Style Me Pretty

Our sister company, WeddingLight, Paris wedding Photographer, was just featured on Style Me Pretty for a Paris elopement that we organized for Jennifer and Donny earlier this year.

Jennifer and Donny, a couple from Louisiana, USA, decided on a romantic and intimate ceremony — just the two of them — in the elegant and classic Parisian Chapelle Expiatoire. Everything looked just stunning from her Monique L’Huiller dress to her perfect bouquet of pastel colored flowers from our talented florist.

After their ceremony, Olivier, WeddingLight’s photographer, took them on a photo tour of Paris for some special portraits. He choose some great locations, such as Pont Alexandre III, the Jardin de Tuileries, the Lover’s Bridge, some lovely cobbled stone streets in St. Germain des Pres, and other picturesque locations.

We are so happy to have had the chance to help make Jennifer and Donny’s elopement day both memorable and extraordinary for them.

As with all of our clients, we continue to wish them nothing but the absolute best in the new life together.

  • What if it Rains on My Wedding Day in Paris

No amount of planning can control the weather on your wedding day. We all know that Paris is a beautiful city.  The Eiffel Tower, the view from Cafe de la Paix, the Seine: what’s not to love? However if it happens to rain on your wedding day in Paris, there are ways to save the day without letting the weather rain on your parade.

There Are Many Parisian Ceremony Location Options

Are you the outdoorsy kind? Why not get married by the Seine. There are plenty of bridges and overpasses. Quai de la Tournelle is the embankment underneath Pont de l’Archevêché, the bridge with the famous “love locks”  is both quirky and romantic. You can also enjoy a beautiful view of both Notre Dame and the river.

The Importance of a Great Wedding Photography On a Rainy Day

Luckily, Paris has many iconic and romantic backdrops for wedding photos. The typical Parisian architecture such as the Haussmann-style buildings lends a majestic look to even the gloomiest of days. If you are using one of our more experienced photographers, you’ll be whisked to the quaintest hidden areas that make for lovely photography regardless of weather.

The lobbies of the most elegant hotels also create excellent backdrops, as most have marble floors, beautiful details, and high ceilings.  There are a few hotels, centrally located in Paris that offer a picturesque backdrop, from their lobbies, staircases, and courtyards to their rooms.

    TIPS

Paris is such an artisanal city that you will have no problems finding speciality umbrella makers. These handmade umbrellas are also picture perfect and make a great keepsake for you big day.

Don’t be afraid of the rain, with a little help from your wedding planner and photographer your big day can still be smashing. Some of the best photos come from spontaneous shots. Be prepared to get wet, instead of fighting with mother nature let it work for you, play with the rain!
