  • Inspiration: Bridal Shoes

All of our Pairs Destination wedding Brides and Grooms comes in all size and shapes and so does the preference for wedding day footwear!

We’ve found that shoes are one of the most important aspects to having a great wedding day – if you’re walking around in uncomfortable shoes, or ones that you don’t really like you’re less likely to be able to focus on other aspects of your day. I also can’t stress enough the importance of great insoles and carrying bandages in your purse (just in case!).

Whether you choose some snazzy Christian Louboutins or some Eco friendly and very comfy Toms. You’re shoes are a reflection of your wedding style and your overall life values.

For this week’s wedding inspiration we wanted to showcase some pretty shoes and ideas.

This was such a cute idea for the Groom to write a little note / poem on the bottom of his brides shoes – we love it!

The shoe gods have put Dame Vivienne Westwood together with the Brazilian shoe brand Melissa to create these comfy mid-heel shoes, with the cutest heart detail! (here we see the bride wearing the white and gold combination of the Lady Dragon Love Heart).

    Toms wedding shoes

Personally speaking, as a barefoot bride, sometimes it’s just impractical to wear heels. I’m a big fan of Toms and their philosophy to help children around the world and make shoes that are eco-conscious, so these simple white flats would work just fine. Toms has a wedding line of shoes  for Brides, Bridesmaids, Grooms, Groomsmen and Kids!

    ………..

I’ve also seen on Etsy (if you are a DIY Bride you have to check out ETSY Weddings) tons of hand made and customizable  items, including shoes! Like these embroidered wedding converse ( with the wedding date and “I Do”).

how are you selecting your wedding day shoes?

  • Inspiration: Paris Black and White Photography

Like a romantic scene from an old movie – black and white film captures an essence that’s not the same with color photos. Who remembers how in love we all fell with the movie The Artist; the black and white silent film with french actors Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo?

It captures a depth that more and more couples demand from their Paris wedding photographer. We are happy that we have a great team to suggest to our clients visiting Paris, who want this classic French touch.

We try to have all our couples at ease rather quickly.  To be fully comfortable with your photographer or videographer is no easy work if you’re not a model, but we make the process easier by making sure that you have access to your Paris wedding photographer
or videographer to ask as many questions before hand and build up a rapport.

Paris has no shortage of lovely places; gardens, fountains and chic streets to take your photos. You can choose to do a shoot that includes all the iconic places.  Or not. You can also choose to do a shoot Off-the-Beaten-Path that includes places of interest based on your particular areas of interest (music, art, food, etc). The photographers from WeddingLight are always receptive to talk about your vision of your day.

  • Inspiration: Wedding Cakes & Croquembouche

Remember when we told you about the importance of a Croquembouche piece montee in french wedding traditions? Well, for this weeks inspiration blog post we wanted to gather a few of our favorite looking (and no doubt) yummiest cake designs including the traditional American styled layered cake as well as the french style croquembouche.

We’re hearing from many of our British brides that since seeing Michelle Roux made a croquembouche on Masterchef they’re intrigued about having one at their weddings!

Depending on the size of the wedding party – some couple choose to have both; a croquembouche and a layered cake.

  • Inspiration: Bridal Bouquets, Peonies and more

Bridal bouquets are important to every bride and each bride chooses their flowers based on seasonality, color choices or simply “these are my favorite flowers!”. We’ve done everything from blush/nude to blood red and everything in between here in Paris with some of the best floral designers around.

Here are some inspirational bouquets for your clipboards, including some peony selections amongst others.

    Red Peonies Bridal bouquet

For 2012, we’ve seen a large trend towards using Peonies. We love peonies too – white, blush, pink, red …all of them, but brides be aware that peony season is from April to June.
