  • Paris Luxury wedding at the Ritz hotel

We kicked off another beautiful Parisian event with a gorgeous wedding at the Ritz Hotel Paris. The lovely young couple, Lauren and Arnett, are true world travelers and from the moment they were engaged they knew they to be married in Paris. With the help of the Ritz Hotel and our inhouse photographer from WeddingLight, their luxurious wedding day dream was made a reality and
captured in time through these lovely images.

Lauren and Arnett flew to Paris all the way from Houston, Texas last month to tie the knot in fabulous style. They invited their friends and family to come and celebrate their love in the most romantic city in the world. They really made the most of Paris by marrying and celebrating in the five star Ritz Hotel located in the center of the city.
Lauren wore a stunning gown designed by Mira Zwillinger. This special gown from the Stardust collection is an open back lace dress with sleeves. Lauren looked positively ethereal walking down the aisle which was lit up by candles and colored with flower petals. For the flower decor, Lauren and Arnett chose a pink and white theme. Their florist, Anne Vitchen, used spring flowers like pink peonies, white roses and hydrangeas. The decor was absolutely elegant.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds went off for an adventurous photo tour of Paris. Olivier, from WeddingLight, led them through the city and captured beautiful photographs that Lauren and Arnett will cherish forever. They went everywhere, from the Louvre to the Arc de Triomphe. These photographs feature all of the most iconic spots in Paris. Lauren and Arnett looked radiant in the afterglow and excitement of having just said their “I do’s.”

This fun loving couple returned to the Ritz after their photo tour for a night of food, drinks, and dancing. The Ritz organized a beautiful 5 course dinner for the wedding party. Every detail was taken care of including elegant name cards, bouquets, candles, and of course — champagne and a gorgeous six layer chocolate wedding cake made with chocolate ganache, vanilla, and strawberries and cream . After dinner, the newlyweds and wedding guests headed to the dance floor arranged by the Ritz. Lauren even changed into another shorter party gown, by the designer Romona Keveza, so that she could continue celebrating in style. The young couple and guests held their after party at the nightclub Jangal and invited Olivier to come along and take some more pictures as the night progressed. Everyone was in great spirits because what’s more fun than celebrating love in city of light.

This was such an amazing wedding to witness — it was pure joy and elegance. The Ritz Hotel did such a wonderful job of creating this beautiful and luxurious wedding day. I hope you enjoy looking at the photographs as much as our photographer did taking them.

  • Wedding Trend – Calligraph-Y Your Big Day

If your idea of calligraphy involves a 18th century gentry man scrawling on parchment paper, you need to get up to speed.  Versatile and personalise-able, calligraphy has come back in fashion over the past few years, especially in the World of Weddings.  Done right, it can transform your special day  from run of the mill, to one of a kind.

From obvious things like Wedding Invitations to more unusual personalisation such as inscribed Wedding Cakes, calligraphy is something you can really have fun with.  Whether it be stone, wood, glass, paper or cloth, the possibilities of adding a personal touch to your day through the medium of pen and ink are endless.

Always partial to a bit of Wedding-Inpiration hunting, we’ve scoured the internet for the best of the best in Wedding Calligraphy ideas – go get inspired.

Wedding Table Menus & Place Settings:

Everything about this vibrant, blue setting is gorgeous, but what makes it really special is the Calligraphed plate detailing.  This is not only a chance to tie in the colour of the gold cutlery, but also adds a touch of personalisation, meaning each and every one of the guests feel special – it’s the little things that count.

Another pretty affair, this time in delicate shades of pink. While the table design itself, with its creased linen napkin, chopping board and spindly thyme-sprig are lovely, the Menu card in bright white adds a touch of modernity and polish to this shabby chic set-up.  The calligraphy style is wonderful, striking the perfect balance between scribbly and high-fashion.

    Wedding Invitations & RSVPs:

The colour of these wedding envelopes is beautiful – a deep crimson is so classically romantic – but what really sets them off is the salmon pink calligraphed writing.  Extravagant, swirly, vintage-look typography is used, which along with the added details of rose-gold wax seal, make these look like invites for a rather royal affair!

Sketchy floral patterns, muslin cloth and grey-blue, velvet ribbon give a big nod to the French shabby chic trend which is all about a less refined, effortless style.  Calligraphy goes hand in hand with this, and the scrawly, barely-there typography in muted colours used here compliments the theme perfectly.

    Wedding Accessories & Finishing Touches:

Avoid your groom presenting his personalised vows on a crumpled, well-worn piece of paper by giving him an equally personalised place to present them.  These little books are simple, sharp and stylish, keeping everything tidy while your words do the talking.

Being Parisian Wedding Planners, we were bound to love these oh-so French Wedding favours.  The macaroons look devine – and are no doubt delicious, too – but it’s the personalised, calligraphed gift tag that takes them from ‘cutes-y’ to Wedding-worthy.

You’ve spent years looking; trawling through all-white rails and in and out of changing rooms and finally bought the Wedding Dress of your dreams.  The most important garment of your life shouldn’t be on any plastic hanger, now, should it ?  Give your dress the presentation it deserves, with a personalised coat hanger done in the calligraphy style of your choice.

As you can see, with calligraphy, there are no rules and you can let your imagination go wild.  Want to see more ?  Check out our Calligraphy Pinterest board for even more inspiration.

  • Inspiration: An Enchanting Wedding in the Countryside of Normandy

Inspiration: An Enchanting Wedding in the Countryside of Normandy

As wedding planners, we are always looking for inspiration to pull from for our own events. This past summer, our fabulous photographer, Olivier Lalin of WeddingLight Photography, photographed a lovely pink-hued wedding in the countryside of Normandy. Have we caught your attention yet?

Gathering some 250 friends and family, this lovely couple decided to have two full days of festivities to celebrate their wedding.

On a gorgeous summer day in July, guests enter the venue on a candle lit path.French Normandy countryside weddingThe reception was held in a charming garden just a few hours from the French capital. Although a tent was set up to cover the area, it was beautifully decorated in fairy lights, lush pink and creme-colored florals, as well as hanging white wisteria plants for a whimsical and romantic interior. Quite enchanting! French Normandy countryside wedding

Just outside the tent, a photo booth was set up for guests to enjoy throughout the evening. Isn’t that hand painted backdrop just incredible? The lanterns also provide a nice touch, too.

Don’t you?Menus with created with the bride and groom’s initials monogrammed at the top and finished with a bold pink hand-written font for a simple, yet elegant look. The table set up was equally as dreamy with an eclectic array of glass vases and pink and creme-colored floral arrangements dispersed down the center of the table. Mercury glass candle holders were also arranged to complement the florals. As for the tableware, vintage pink floral plates were used with silver flatware and crystal glasses trimmed in gold to finalize the presentation.

  • Styled Shoot: A Dreamy Vintage Inspired Styled Shoot

WeddingLight Events is thrilled to be sharing our first ever styled shoot! This was our first attempt at creating an inspirational bridal shoot for our lovely international brides and we are thrilled with the results. We certainly could not have achieved this outcome without our phenomenal team of vendors whom without their assistance, dedication and contribution would not have been possible.

It started with a simple idea of doing something with a vintage chic theme, which was realized with the addition of our friendMax Chaoul‘s stunning vintage inspired gowns. The Daisy gown is a 1920’s inspired look in a fluid low waisted satin design and a gorgeous embroidered lace top. The second is the Lana gown, which is a 1940’s inspired look in a empire cut with a romantic long sleeved crochet design. We then paired ethereal veils and romantic headpieces from Rhapsodie Paris, lovely artisanal (and ethically made) jewelry by Paulette à Bicyclette (yes, you’ve seen her on our blog before!) and whimsical florals by Edith of Une Fleur en Liberte in white and pastel peach and pink colors. To complete our models looks hairstylist, Lucie Letz and Los Angeles makeup artist, Melody Kennedy opted for one model with a bold look that included a daring pink lip and smoky eyes and the other model with a charming and natural look and playful curls. For the location we wanted to have a “Secret Garden” feel with all of its serenity and romance. We were delighted when a friend of our photographer allowed us to use his dreamy home, which is just location outside of Paris in the Parisian countryside. Everyone’s contribution was important, but without the amazing talent of our wonderful photographer, Olivier Lalin of WeddingLight Photography, this shoot would not have happened.

We certainly hope this inspires our beautiful brides to be! Keep checking the blog as we are in the midst of preparing for another shoot before the summer’s end.
